Home Farm has been the home of the Pibworth family since the 1950s.
Garry and Ruth made the decision to convert the old farm buildings which had formerly been used to house animals on the farm. The farm had been purely arable for quite a long period and the buildings were falling into disrepair.
The first phase of the conversion which is still the main block of units was completed early in 1990 and the first guests welcomed in June 1990.
Tinwick – as a 3 bedroom apartment was completed 2 years later. (recently converted into a luxury 2 bedroom apartment)
Some years later Barn End was created in the barn adjoining the farmhouse. Originally this was for a B&B enterprise but is at the moment used as a 2 bedroom apartment.
The most recent additions / conversions were in 2018 where two of the original 2 bedroom apartments were converted into a large modern 3 bedroom apartment - Henmoor and our largest most luxury 3 bedroom apartment was built - The Stables. and in January 2020 Tinwick was converted into a more spacious luxury 2 bedroom cottage.
Also in 2018 the Glamping side of the business was launched with 2 luxury Safari Tents.
From the very beginning we have worked continuously to ensure all of our apartments are comfortable and well presented, with a lot of modernisation taking place to keep up with the times such as the addition of dishwashers, in some apartments, but without losing the original character of the barn.
We pride ourselves on being a family run business which makes it a more personal experience when guests come to stay.
To help us with the housekeeping, we have a team of two ladies, Anette and Sharan who all work for us part time and have been with us for a number of years – Diana sadly retired in 2018 after 26 years having been with us almost since the start.
We hope to welcome you to The Old Stone Barn soon.
