Home Farm has been the home of the Pibworth family since the 1950s.
Garry and Ruth made the decision to convert the old farm buildings which had formerly been used to house animals on the farm. The farm had been purely arable for quite a long period and the buildings were falling into disrepair.
The first phase of the conversion which is still the main block of 5 units was completed early in 1990 and the first guests welcomed in June 1990.
Tinwick – our 3 bedroom apartment was completed 2 years later.
Some years later Barn End was created in the barn adjoining the farmhouse. Originally this was for a B&B enterprise but is at the moment used as a 2 bedroom apartment.
From the very beginning we have worked continuously to ensure all of our apartments are comfortable and well presented, with a lot of modernisation taking place to keep up with the times such as the addition of dishwashers, in some apartments, but without losing the original character of the barn.
We pride ourselves on being a family run business which makes it a more personal experience when guests come to stay and are delighted our daughter Fiona has now joined the ‘team’ bringing new inspiration and ideas!
To help us with the housekeeping, we have a team of three ladies, Diana, Anette and Mandy who all work for us part time and have been with us for a number of years – Diana almost since the start.
We hope to welcome you to The Old Stone Barn soon.
